- Fall army worm in maize
- Fall armyworm has caused extensive damage to crops, especially maize
- In addition to maize (major host), Fall army worm can eat more than 80 plant species
- FALL ARMY WORMS are very distructive pest it feed in aggressive maner in maize , and also sorgham
- It can feed on all parts of plants like leaves ,whorls ,tassals ,cobs.
- The adult can lay eggs on the leaves
- The newly hatched larva can feed one side of leave tissue and leaving opposite side
- At seedling stage it can feed on the growing points and whorl leaves , in sever cases it cut the base of the plant
- Young larva can spread to other plant by using silk
- It also make holes in leaves and leaving frass at feeding site
