The term “dieback” technically refers to the progressive death of twigs, shoots, and branches from the tip downward 

Dieback symptoms occours in leaves

Small, round  to irregular, Necrotic tissues appear grayish white with black dot 

  • severely infected leaves defoliate,  Infection of growing tips leads to necrosis of branches from tip backwards
  • Due to the infection at pedicel and tips of branches ,shedding of flowers occurs and yield decreases
  • Majorly diseases occurs in December and October

Fruit rot  

  • In fruits the small circular sunken spots are appears
  • The infection spreads into seeds it covers the fungus mat , it should be avoid for sowing
  • The infection leads to wrinkled and drying of fruits
  • Mostly dry chilli is affected than green chill
  • In severity cases the fruit is unfit for  market and  consumption
